Women on the Water

Women on the water is an opportunity for TSC ladies to sail, kayak, row or SUP in a ladies only environment. TSC encourage all female members to get on the water in the company of others and enjoy our wonderful facilities and sailing area. WOW is all about having fun on the water, everyone is welcome regardless of ability, all you need is a fun attitude and a sense of humour. It is one night a week for ladies to have ‘me time’ away from work, family, and everything else. Apart from the fantastic exercise there is another important benefit to the Thursday night sessions. The improvement to mental well-being derived from 'being on the open sea', surrounded by an abundance of wildlife from Seals to flocks of migrating birds away from the sounds of everyday life is something that those that go afloat can testify to.

Sessions run weekly on Thursday evenings from April to October with other weekend sessions and winter socials planned. The sessions are flexible we plan activities that the group would like to to do such as have a go at gig rowing, spinnaker work, kayaking, RIB driving, stand up paddle boarding etc.

The long shallow slipway allows launching at all states of the tide, making Tudor SC one of the most accessible clubs in Langstone Harbour. Members can sail, row, kayak or SUP at anytime they wish and club is accessible by members 24hrs a day. The club owns 18 sailing dinghies of various sizes, 6 kayaks and two rowing gigs which are available for members to use for a small fee. There are also annual packages available making getting afloat without your own boat a cost-effective option.

We are a 'self help club', which means that the services that the club provides are all provided by volunteers - we have no paid staff. This helps to keep membership subscriptions low, making watersports accessible to all. All family and individual members are required to offer a minimum of 15 hours of duty per year. Volunteering is a great way of meeting other members and is actually quite fun!

We meet between 5.45pm and 6.00pm with the aim to be launched by 6.30pm.

WoW evenings are run by the group and Co-ordinated by Hannah Barnes (Kayak Captain).
