Farminer Trophy Awarded to the cadet scoring the least total points in the Sunset Series; all races to count. Langstone Harbour Inter-club Series (LHICS) Inter-club handicap series between all Langstone Harbour clubs; open to all club members. Racing for Fast, Medium and Slow Handicap. Tudor v Locks Series Inter-club handicap series for the Langstone Tiller; open to all club members. Sailed in conjunction with the LHICS. Chris Wadham Memorial Trophy An out of harbour Tudor v Locks race for the Chris Wadham Memorial Trophy; open to all club members. Gould Series (personal handicap) Series of 3 races open to all club members who have finished at least 4 races during the season, in the class they are entering, before 31 st August, excluding the Frostbite and Icicle Series, the Regatta, the Trafalgar and L V See pursuit races, and the Wilson, Glanville, Boxall, Long Distance, Out of Harbour and Cadet races. Each competitor will be allocated a personal handicap number before the first race. Challenge series Handicap series of 3 races open to all. Sailed in conjunction with the Gould Series. Long Distance Trophy. Handicap race, of normally at least 12 miles, open to all club members with dinghies having Portsmouth numbers of 1145 or less. Horse Sand Fort Trophy and Out of Harbour Race. These out of harbour races are open to all club members but they should be aware that these are long races (the Out of Harbour race is around 12 miles) in potentially challenging conditions. Boxall Trophy. Handicap race, open to all club members with dinghies having Portsmouth numbers of 1146 or greater. Trafalgar Shield and L V See Trophy. Pursuit races open to all club members. Handicap events open to all clubs in Langstone Harbour. Sailed in Langstone Harbour near Langstone Sailing Club. Wild Goosechase Single race event, open to members of all Langstone Harbour clubs. Racing for various dinghy classes and cruisers. Hosted in rotation by Langstone Harbour clubs: Locks S.C. for 2008. Start in Langstone Channel. Boxing Day Race. Handicap race. A festive appearance is expected! The Race Officer and Patrol Boat crew are volunteers (so please volunteer). All dinghies must sign on before the cruise and sign off on return to Tudor. Safety cover as such is not provided (although the patrol boat will be attending) and therefore crews should aim to be self-sufficient. For out of harbour cruises, competent crews in well-found boats only. Compass highly recommended. Cadets must have parental consent and be accompanied by a nominated adult. If in any doubt as to requirements please discuss with Sailing Committee well in advance of the event. Circumnavigate Hayling Island with a stop for lunch at HISC. Boats may pass over or under the bridge according to dinghy type and owners preference. A fun day out with some real sailing. Bring a packed lunch. Sword Sands Fun Sail Sail down to Sword Sands at low tide and then play boules, rounders, fly kites or whatever on the best beach in the harbour. Bring a packed lunch and food to cook on the barbeque back at the Club afterwards. IOW Priory Bay Cruise A day cruise to Priory Bay on the Isle of Wight, for experienced helms only. Usually Tudor Cruisers go as well. Langstone at High Water Cruise A chance to sail around Langstone Harbour when there is plenty of water; get to know where all the buoys are, for when you race. Langstone at Low Water Cruise A chance to sail around Langstone Harbour when there is little water and plenty of mud; get to know why you run aground, when you race. Special Trophies Terry Fleming Memorial Trophy Awarded to a member demonstrating special endeavour in sailing activities. Flounder Trophy To be awarded to the member performing the most capsizes, a capsize of special merit, or any other unusual occurrence deserving recognition.
